Lochiel House

Look what we have cooking now!

by Jen

There comes a point in time when we all need to embrace the new and move with the times. For us at Lochiel House Restaurant, this brings us to our first ever blog entry.

Earlier this year we launched our own website. It took us months to refine the site so that, hopefully, we could capture the essence of our little regional restaurant. The website was just one small step in bringing more to you, our customers. With the addition of this blog, we hope we can give you more insight into our world here at Lochiel.

To us, our restaurant is, of course, a unique place where we are lucky enough to see the green hills around us, along with working every day in a beautiful heritage cottage (which, at this time of year is complete with roaring open fires - you don't see that often enough these days!). We are just close enough to Sydney that we are in tune with its inspiring and ever-changing food scene, but also far enough that we can tend to our own vegetable garden and also bring to you the amazing local produce of our own region, the Hawkesbury.

For many of you, Lochiel House is already a regular haunt or a special place for celebrations with family and friends, or simply a place to relax on the weekend and escape from the city. But for any soon-to-be first timers to our lovely restaurant, we hope you enjoy your experience here.

In blog entries to follow, we aim to share with you photos, recipes, updates and stories of our restaurant life at Lochiel House in Kurrajong Heights.

We're bursting to tell you all about the exciting new food adventures from Monique and Tony's kitchen and hopefully we will keep you coming back for more!

Our blog will be brought to you by Monique, owner, chef and host of Lochiel House and myself, Jen - part waitress, part administrator. If we can get Tony - joint owner, Head Chef and husband to Monique - away from his new Paco Jet ice cream maker long enough to post something, you may even hear from him too.

We look forward to hearing your feedback as we step forward into the remainder of 2010 and thank you for dining with us.
